ROSECRANS EAST PROJECT

The South Bay Economic Development Partnership was awarded October 2001 a grant from the James Irvine Foundation for development of a plan for the renaissance of Rosecrans Avenue located in the Cities of Hawthorne, Lawndale and Gardena, bounded by the San Diego Freeway (I-405) on the west end and Vermont Avenue on the east. This project is of significant impact to the South Bay economy..


ECONOMIC FORECAST CONFERENCE

Presented each fall, the Economic Forecast Conference presents an easy to understand detailed view of the South Bay economy and how it is affected by global changes, workplace transitions, labor issues, and academic challenges.  Internationally recognized speakers provide insight to topics critical for informed South Bay public and private sector decision-making.The annual South Bay Economic Digest is published each year at the Forecast Conference. This impressive compendium of demographic statistics, studies, surveys, and related data necessary for informed decision making is unique in the entire nation.

BUSINESS OUTREACH AND ASSISTANCE

A key to SBEDP success is its unique business outreach and assistance program. Up to 300 businesses each month are targetted for meaningful communication with details of programs designed to assist them achieve their goals and objectives. Up to 30 of these businesss are visited each month by the SBEDP Business Assistance Manager, a representative of the city of company location and other persons able to provide immediate and meaningful assistance to the firm.


WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, FOCUS GROUPS

The Partnership regularly conducts workshops, seminars, and focus groups to satisfy a regional need for training companies of all size and South Bay communities how to get more from their resources.  These mission critical programs provide companies and communities low-cost and no cost professional consulting, programmatic technical assistance,  public/private collaboration facilitation and understanding how to resolve cross cutting issues affecting individual companies, industries, and the communities in which they reside.
